Founded in 1960 this brewery got its name and logo from the first manager's dog, Aramis. Boxer was taken over in 1982 by the french brewery ""les Enfants de Gayant"", then in 1994 by the group Sharma of Bombay and further in 1997 by Löwengarten and some private investors. The brewery moved from Romanel/Lausanne to Yverdon in March 2012 and increased its production of 35% in 4 years. It has been finally taken over by Doppelleu to build Doppelleu-Boxer in June 2017 (effective from January 2018). The projected production increase is to reach 75'000 hl until 2021 (they were at 19'000 in 2005 and probably around 60'000 in 2019). A very realistic goal after the potentiel vacuity created by the closure of Cardinal in Fribourg as well as a higher distribution in the german-speaking part of the country since the last taken-over. Boxer has about 40 employees. The range of their beers has been fully rebranded since they belong to Doppelleu. Nevertheless, don't except to find craft beer styles here but instead some uninspired, below average and boring lagers."
