Please note: considering the huge and neverending development of the world of beer in many countries, my comments below may be quite out-of-date.
Facing (among other factors) an impressive developpement of the australian wine industry, the country has seen
its beer consumption sink since 1975. Considering this, most of the breweries have made or endured major reorganisations
and fusions and the 2 biggest of those brewers (Elders (actually Foster's) and Bond (acquired later by the giant of
New Zealand, Lion Nathan) have searched to expend worldwide. The australian market is totally dominated by Carlton and United (Foster's, 54%) and Lion Nathan (44%). But if you are looking for quality beers, you will have to drink something else, like Murrays, Bridge Road, Redoak, Little Creatures or one of the numerous breweries of the new generation.
With barely more than 30 beers tasted, I unfortunately present a very poor coverage of this country. But I have still not given up the idea to travel there some time in my life ...
