Comment:

bottle; bought at the brewpub - pours a clear copper-red colour under a solid creamy beige head; solid earthy aroma with notes of pepper and aromatic hops; light to medium malt backbone, clean palate and with a strong bitterness; moderately dry and long bitter earthy and slightly nutty aftertaste - a great brew and a wonderful session beer

october 2006; 18 months old) courtesy of Laurent Mousson - pours a clear amber colour with a fine dark beige head; the nose shows some maderised notes along with earthy, almondy and nutty tones; fat mouthfeel; oily and sweet with a medium malt body; rather low bitterness; the finish is earthy and rather short with more nutty notes - at last I have been able to put my hands on this legendary Altbier !
